Gloria
-
sound installation by Robert Wilson
Musique Richard Landry
“Gloria” combines Richard Landry’s musical composition with excerpts from De Rerum Natura (On the nature of things) by the Latin philosopher Lucretius, 1st century CE, borne by the voices of a man, a woman and a child. They echo, in a secular way, the themes of the stained glass windows: the soul, the body, nature, the universe, the void, the creation of the world, the course of the sun, the relationship of humans to the universe. An electroacoustic device made specifically for the Sainte-Chapelle diffuses the work spatially in the upper chapel
